At Yokosuka Christian Academy, we focus on meeting our students’ needs with a Christian-based education. We use the BJU curriculum to teach key subjects: English, Math, Bible, Social Studies, and Science. Classes are taught by enthusiastic native English speakers. Since we are in Japan, students also take Japanese language classes, tailored to their skill levels, to help them engage with Japanese culture and improve their literacy.

Students participate in music, physical education, cooking, and art classes every week. The whole school gathers for a lively chapel service once a week, where students can worship, sing, dance, listen to Bible messages, and learn Bible verses. We also offer two Bible classes weekly to support our students’ spiritual growth and help them develop a Biblical worldview.

Our Method of Teaching

Reverence

We revere God as our creator and the source of all truth and wisdom. We remember to put Him first in all areas of life.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
  the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain. (Psalm 127:1)

Rest

We value rest by balancing hard work with times of play. We create boundaries that prioritize rest over results.

In vain you rise early
  and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves. (Psalm 127:2)

Realize Identity in Christ

We help each child realize how valuable they are in Christ.

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3)

Resilience

We foster resilience by teaching good habits and encouraging perseverance through challenges to help them soar into adulthood.

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth. (Psalm 127:4)

Relationships

We instill strong character to build respectful, caring, and meaningful relationships with God and others.

Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court. (Psalm 127:5)
