Yokosuka Christian Academy’s elementary program will provide a Christ-centered environment for learning, helping students grow academically, spiritually, and personally. Through an English-language education grounded in biblical principles and Christian values, students will develop essential knowledge and skills while learning to see the world through a biblical worldview. A smaller classroom environment will allow teachers to provide meaningful instruction and personal attention as students develop a love for learning.

The elementary program is designed to accommodate multi-age learning, with students grouped into combined grade-level classrooms such as K–1, 2–3, and 4–5, particularly during the school’s early years. This approach encourages students to learn from one another, develop responsibility, and strengthen their understanding by helping classmates. Core subjects such as mathematics and language arts will be taught at appropriate grade levels to ensure steady academic progress. Screentime will be minimized in younger years.

Our Method of Teaching

Reverence

We revere God as our creator and the source of all truth and wisdom. We remember to put Him first in all areas of life.

Unless the Lord builds the house,
  the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain. (Psalm 127:1)

Rest

We value rest by balancing hard work with times of play. We create boundaries that prioritize rest over results.

In vain you rise early
  and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves. (Psalm 127:2)

Realize Identity in Christ

We help each child realize how valuable they are in Christ.

Children are a heritage from the Lord,
offspring a reward from him. (Psalm 127:3)

Resilience

We foster resilience by teaching good habits and encouraging perseverance through challenges to help them soar into adulthood.

Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are children born in one’s youth. (Psalm 127:4)

Relationships

We instill strong character to build respectful, caring, and meaningful relationships with God and others.

Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their opponents in court. (Psalm 127:5)
